Thirteen building plans approved in July

     The Buildings Department approved 13 building plans in July, with four on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

     Of the approved plans, three were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, seven were for commercial developments and three were for community services developments.

     In the same month, consent was given for work to start on 17 building projects that, when completed, will provide 113 510 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1 524 units, and 116 477 square metres of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of work for 15 building projects.

     The department also issued 16 occupation permits, with two on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and eight in the New Territories.

     Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 19 192 square metres and 108 044 square metres was for non-domestic use.

     The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled about $1.6 billion.

     In addition, 10 demolition consents involving 10 building structures were issued.

     The department received 3 707 reports about unauthorised building works in July, and issued 1 084 removal orders on unauthorised works.
