CE applauds Hong Kong Paralympic team

     The Chief Executive, Mr C Y Leung today (September 7) sent his warmest congratulations to the Hong Kong delegation for winning three medals in the London 2012 Paralympic Games, including one silver and two bronze.

     So Wa-wai scored a silver medal in the men's 200m T36 competition. Chan Wing-kin and Leung Shu-hang both won bronze medals in the men's individual saber Category A and the women's 100m breaststroke swimming SB14 events respectively.
    
     "It is most encouraging for Hong Kong athletes to score more medals at the Paralympic Games. We are glad to know that sprinter So Wa-wai won a silver medal in the 200m competition, earning the medal for the fourth consecutive Paralympic Games. Our athletes' achievements have exemplified the can-do spirit of Hong Kong people," Mr Leung said.

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Mr Tsang Tak-sing, said he is thrilled with the remarkable achievements of the Hong Kong delegation. He said he hopes that the athletes will strive for the best and excel in competition.

     The Hong Kong delegation has so far won ten medals, comprising three gold, three silver and four bronze in the London 2012 Paralympic Games.
