The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (July 6) proposing the Stage 4 Kai Tak North Apron Area Infrastructure Works under the Kai Tak Development project to tie in with the proposed residential developments in the North Apron Area of Kai Tak Airport.
The proposed works include:
(i) construction of a section, approximately 950 metres long, of a road and associated footpaths;
(ii) construction of a road of approximately 340m long and associated footpaths;
(iii) construction of footpaths of approximately 830m long connecting the proposed associated footpaths in (i) and (ii);
(iv) construction of central medians/traffic islands, vehicular run-ins, and pedestrian crossings;
(v) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing carriageways into central medians/traffic islands;
(vi) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpaths/central medians into carriageways;
(vii) temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing carriageways;
(viii) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpaths into pedestrian crossings;
(ix) temporary closure, reconstruction and widening of sections of the existing footpaths at Sung Wong Toi Road and To Kwa Wan Road; and
(x) ancillary works including drainage, water, utility and landscaping works.
The proposed works will start in mid-2013 and are expected to complete in 2016.
