Government announces appointments to Consumer Council

     The Government today (December 23) announced the appointment of nine members to the Consumer Council for a term of two years with effect from January 1, 2012.

     The newly appointed members are Ms Amy Fung Dun-mi, Mr Godfrey Lam Wan-ho and Dr Angela Ng Lai-ping.

     The re-appointed members are Mr Chapman Chan Chor-man, Dr David Chung Wai-keung, Mr Wilfred Lee Yuen-kwong, Ms Amanda Liu Lai-yun, Mr Alvin Wong Tak-wai and Ms Irene Yau Oi-yuen.

     "We are delighted that three new members and six incumbent members have accepted the appointment. We are confident that their experience and expertise will be invaluable to the work of the Council in promoting consumer interests," a Government spokesman said.
  
     Mr Raymond Choy Wai-shek, Mr Stanley Szeto Chi-yan and Professor Wong Yung-hou will retire from the Council upon the expiry of their terms on December 31, 2011. "We would like to express our gratitude to them for their contributions to the Council's work," the spokesman said.

     The appointment notice was published in the Gazette today.
