Proposed road works for future West Rail Long Ping Station (North) property development gazetted

     The Government published a Gazette notice today (September 16) on the proposed road works for West Rail Long Ping Station (North) property development.  The proposed road works serve to facilitate the future property development to the north of West Rail Long Ping Station, and improve traffic conditions in the neighbouring areas.

     Major proposed road works are as follows:

(i) construction of carriageways and footpaths for a future bus terminus;
(ii) construction of a covered footbridge with associated foundations and supporting columns, a lift, an escalator and a staircase;
(iii) construction of a temporary lift connecting the footpath at the ground floor and the existing covered footbridge leading to Long Ping Station;
(iv) permanent closure and conversion of a section of the existing carriageway into a footpath;
(v) permanent closure and conversion of sections of the existing footpaths into carriageways;
(vi) permanent closure and demolition of part of the existing covered footbridge, lift, escalator and staircase;
(vii) temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing footpaths; and
(viii) ancillary works including construction of a shelter for the future bus terminus, associated utilities and reinstatement works.

     The plan and scheme are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or their use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16/F, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before November 15.
