The Town Planning Board today (August 26) announced the publication of the Draft Lai Chi Wo, Siu Tan and Sam A Tsuen Development Permission Area (DPA) Plan.
The area, covering about 131 hectares, comprises three sub-areas, namely Lai Chi Wo, Siu Tan and Sam A Tsuen. It is located in adjacent valleys on the northeastern coast of Plover Cove Country Park, facing Yan Chau Tong Marine Park.
A spokesman for the Town Planning Board said the general planning intention for the area is to protect its high conservation and landscape value as well as the rural settings which complement the overall naturalness and landscape beauty of Plover Cove Country Park.
About 4.91 hectares of the area is zoned "Village Type Development" to reflect existing recognised villages in Lai Chi Wo, Mui Tsz Lam, Kop Tong and Sam A Tsuen. The remaining 126.14 hectares are designated "Unspecified Use", pending detailed analysis and studies to establish the appropriate land uses in the course of preparing an Outline Zoning Plan.
The draft Lai Chi Wo, Siu Tan and Sam A Tsuen DPA Plan is now available for public inspection during office hours at the secretariat of the Town Planning Board, the Planning Enquiry Counters of the Planning Department in North Point and Sha Tin, the Sha Tin, Tai Po and North District Planning Office, the North District Office and the Sha Tau Kok District Rural Committee.
Any person may make written representation in respect of the draft plan to the Secretary of the Town Planning Board on or before October 26.
Copies of the draft plan are available for sale at the Map Publications Centres in North Point and Yau Ma Tei. The electronic version of the plan can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.info.gov.hk/tpb).
