Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan this morning (August 13) in which a 29-year-old woman was killed.
About 8.35am, a coach driven by a 40-year-old man was travelling east along Tung Hei Road. When approaching near Tam Kung Temple Road, the coach reportedly knocked down the 29-year-old woman who was crossing the road.
The woman sustained serious head injury and was rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital in unconscious state. She was certified dead at 8.55am.
The coach driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He was released on bail and was required to report back to police in mid-September.
Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island Region are under way.
