$153 million cocaine traffickers charged

     Two men, aged 29 and 53, in connection with the $153 million cocaine seized yesterday (April 29), were charged by the Police this evening (April 30) with one count of trafficking in dangerous drugs respectively.

     Officers if the Narcotics Bureau intercepted two men, aged 29 and 53, in Ma On Shan, Shatin at around 3pm yesterday (April 29). About one kilogram of suspected cocaine was seized from their possession. Later, about 146 kilograms of suspected cocaine was seized from a residential unit in Tsim Sha Tsui area. All the drugs seized could fetch about $153 million if sold in the retail market.

     Two defendants will appear in Kowloon City Magistrates' Court next Monday (May 2).
