The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Housing Authority:
Application for the current sales exercise (2007 Phase 1) of surplus Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) flats will close on Monday, January 15. Till then, the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) will continue to open on-site show flats for public viewing in Kingsford Terrace in Wong Tai Sin, Yu Chui Court in Sha Tin and Tin Fu Court in Tin Shui Wai.
Mr Albert Lee Kwok-wing, Assistant Director of Housing (Housing Subsidies), said, "As the application deadline draws near, we expect large numbers of people will visit the on-site show flats these few days. Apart from the decorated and handover-standard show flats on the middle floors of all of the three HOS courts, we will open a few more undecorated flats on the second floor in Kingsford Terrace and Yu Chui Court on Saturday and Sunday (January 13 and 14). We will again implement crowd-control measures to more efficiently direct the flow of visitors."
The opening hours of the on-site show flats from now to January 15 are 10 am to 7 pm daily. Mr Lee anticipates the number of visitors to peak in the afternoon of Saturday and Sunday. He advises the public to choose other time slots to view the flats to avoid lengthy queueing.
Mr Lee added, "Just like the previous weekend, we will post up notices at the queueing and waiting areas to keep visitors informed of the latest situation and announce the expected waiting time through loudspeakers. Visitors may then consider whether to join the 'quick-queue' to view the undecorated flats on the second floor. However, after viewing the second floor flats, they will have to line up again at the other queue should they wish to view the upper floor flats as well."
Mr Lee reminds prospective purchasers of the application deadline for the current sales exercise, "Applicants must submit duly completed application forms on or before next Monday, January 15 to estate offices or the Hong Kong Housing Authority Customer Service Centre in Lok Fu. For applications sent by post, the date of the postal chop on the envelope will be regarded as the date of submission."
