New webpage on HKSAR's Arrangements with the Mainland and the Macao SAR
**********************************************************

The Department of Justice today (January 10) launched a new webpage on its Bilingual Laws Information System (BLIS) website (http://www.legislation.gov.hk/intracountry/eng/index.htm).

This new webpage sets out some of the major arrangements between the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) on the one part and the Mainland or the Macao SAR on the other. The arrangements cover a wide range of areas such as trade and investment, taxation, environment, civil aviation, shipping, mutual legal assistance, etc.

Texts of the arrangements are provided either on the webpage or through external hyperlinks to the websites of other Hong Kong Government bureaus or departments.

"We hope that this project will enhance public awareness and interest in the different areas of cooperation between Hong Kong and the Mainland and Macao," a spokesman of the Department of Justice said.

Further enquiries about the arrangements may be made to the International Law Division of the Department of Justice at ild@doj.gov.hk or to the government bureaus or departments responsible for the relevant arrangements.
