The Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre scheme, which promotes the appreciation of and interest in the performing arts, is now accepting applications for membership for 2007.
Members can enjoy a full package of exclusive benefits, such as a 10% discount on tickets for cultural programmes presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and most of the department-sponsored programmes, including the fabulous flamenco dance performance 䩕Songs, before a War蒅 by Compania Maria Pages (Spain), Concert 䩕Passion for Shanghai II蒅, Family Fiesta 䩕Kaleidoscope蒅 by Cia Kukla (Argentina), London Symphony Orchestra and other prestigious programmes.
Other benefits include special discounts on the purchase of books, gifts, musical instruments and scores, jewellery, CDs, art works, Ocean Park SmartFun Annual Pass, art and cultural courses, magazine subscriptions and dining in hotels and restaurants.
Members will also have the opportunity to attend dress rehearsals, lectures and demonstrations, visit art institutes and take a free guided tour of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.
The newsletters and events calendar will keep members informed of the latest arts programmes.
Those who enrol now will receive either a souvenir of a thermo mug or a padlock with luggage tag set while stocks last.
The annual membership fee for 䩕Friends of Hong Kong Cultural Centre蒅 is $150 for individuals, $220 for joint members, and $70 for senior citizens aged 60 or above, people with disabilities and full-time students. Membership is valid until December 31.
Enrolment forms are available at all department performing venues and public libraries. They can also be downloaded from the website www.hkculturalcentre.gov.hk.
