Police will implement special traffic arrangements starting tomorrow (January 10) to facilitate the holding of a computer festival in Sham Shui Po.
The computer festival will be held in the vicinity of Fuk Wa Street, Fuk Wing Street and Kweilin Street between 10 am and 10 pm each day between January 10 and 15.
Special traffic arrangements will be implemented from 8 pm on January 10 to 11.59 pm on January 15:
The following locations will be designated as pedestrian zone:
(a) A section of Fuk Wa Street between Yen Chow Street and Kweilin Street;
(b) A section of Kweilin Street between Fuk Wa Street and Fuk Wing Street;
(c) A section of Fuk Wing Street between Kweilin Street and Pei Ho Street.
Road diversion:
(a) The straight ahead movement for all vehicles from eastbound Fuk Wa Street crossing its junction with Yen Chow Street will be banned. Affected vehicles originally heading for Kweilin Street via Fuk Wa Street will be diverted via southbound Yen Chow Street, eastbound Cheung Sha Wan Road, northbound Nam Cheong Street, westbound Un Chau Street, southbound Yen Chow Street and eastbound Fuk Wing Street onto Kweilin Street;
(b) The left-turn movement for all vehicles from southbound Yen Chow Street to Fuk Wa Street will be banned. Affected vehicles originally heading for Kweilin Street via Fuk Wa Street will be diverted via eastbound Fuk Wing Street onto Kweilin Street;
Parking spaces:
(a) The existing motorcycle parking spaces outside 127-129 Fuk Wing Street will be relocated to 30D-30E Fuk Wing Street;
(b) The existing disabled parking spaces outside 119-125 Fuk Wing Street will be relocated to 46 Kweilin Street; and
(c) The existing metered coach parking spaces outside 30D-38 Fuk Wing Street will be temporarily suspended.
Public Light Bus (PLB) and Taxi stands:
(a) The existing PLB stand on Kweilin Street and Fuk Wing Street will be temporarily relocated to 174-194 Fuk Wa Street; and
(b) An additional taxi pick up and drop off point will be temporarily set up on Un Chau Street near its junction with Kweilin Street.
Visitors are urged to take heed of Police instructions at the scene.
