Tung Chung job fair offers over 700 vacancies
*********************************************

The Labour Department will stage a job fair at Fu Tung Shopping Centre in Tung Chung on Wednesday (January 10), providing over 700 vacancies for job-seekers.

Seventy per cent of the vacancies come from Tung Chung and the airport. This will facilitate local residents to find a job in their vicinity.

Fifteen companies, mainly from the airport-related industries as well as the catering and retail sectors, will set up counters. They provide some 500 vacancies for on-the-spot recruitment.

The vacancies cover positions such as shop manager, fast food shop manager, customer service officer, stock-keeper, shop assistant, hardstand service assistant and aircraft cabin cleaner.  Job-seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may click to the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).

About 90 per cent of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs, with a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $10,000.  Most of these vacancies require Form 5 educational level or below.  Job-seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.

Special panels will also be mounted to display more than 200 vacancies solicited from other companies.  The Labour Department will conduct on-the-spot job-seeking registration as well.

The job fair will be held from 11am to 6pm on first floor, Fu Tung Shopping Centre, Fu Tung Estate, Tung Chung.  Admission is free.
