Three employers were fined a total of $27,000 at the Kwun Tong Magistracy today (January 2), after being convicted of offences under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance.
Chan Chun Lun, trading as Bosco Chan & Company (BR no.: 21965061) pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to make MPF contributions for an employee within the prescribed time for the contribution periods between May and July, 2006. The defendant was fined $6,000 for the first summons and $2,000 each for the remaining two summonses, totalling $10,000.
Common Rich Technology Limited (BR no.: 20992621) pleaded guilty to three counts of failing to make MPF contributions for an employee within the prescribed time for the contribution periods between March and May, 2006. The defendant was fined $5,000 for the first summons and $2,000 each for the remaining two summonses, totalling $9,000.
Fung Fuk Chuen, trading as Wah Sang Printing Factory (BR no.: 19909164), was fined $8,000 for failing to enrol an employee in an MPF scheme as required by the ordinance.
