The Government announced today (December 29) the re-appointment of three current members of the Consumer Council:
Mrs Christine FUNG TAM Pui-ling
Mr Ambrose HO, SC
Mr Homer YU Sau-ning, MH
and the appointment of five new members:
Mr William CHAN Che-kwong
Dr Polly CHEUNG Suk-yee
Professor Ron HUI Shu-yuen
Mr Philip LEUNG Kwong-hon
Mr Michael LI Hon-shing, BBS, JP
The re-appointments and appointments are effective for two years from January 1, 2007.
A Government spokesman said, "We are confident that the three serving members and the five new members, with their expertise and background in various sectors, will provide valuable contributions to the work of the council in promoting consumer interests."
"We are also grateful for the contributions that the five retiring members, Prof CHING Pak-chung, Mr Frank LEE King-ting, Mr Brian LI Tze-leung and Dr LO Chi-keung and Mr Charles Peter MOK, have made in enhancing consumer protection during their terms of appointment," the spokesman added.
The appointments are published in the Government Gazette today.
