The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (December 19) obtained orders for payment of outstanding MPF contributions of about $360,000 against two employers in the District Court.
The District Court issued judgments against two employers, Lam Kin Lan trading as AMJ Transportation Company and The Park Language Group Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $284,576.52 and $79,083.34, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to five and four employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court further ordered each defendant to pay $930 as the costs in respect of the claims.
