The Labour Department will stage a job fair at Yuen Long Town Hall on Tuesday (December 19), providing over 1,200 vacancies for job-seekers.
Twelve companies, mainly from the catering and the retail sectors, will set up counters with over 1,000 vacancies for on-the-spot recruitment.
The vacancies cover such positions as manager, shop supervisor, sales, shop assistant, customer service officer, kitchen worker, waiter and cashier. Job-seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may click to the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
About 90% of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs, with a monthly salary ranging from $5,000 to $9,000. A majority of these vacancies require Form 5 educational level or below. Job-seekers can submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews.
Special panels will also be mounted to display more than 200 vacancies solicited from other companies. The Labour Department will conduct on-the-spot job-seeking registration as well.
The job fair will be held from 11am to 6pm at Yuen Long Town Hall, 4 Yuen Long Tai Yuk Road (near Yuen Long Stadium), Yuen Long, New Territories. Admission is free.
