Free ethnic performances at Cultural Centre this Sunday (with photo)
********************************************************

Presentations of samulnori, taekwondo, sword dancing, janggu dancing, percussion, break dance and cheerleading will be given this Sunday (December 17) at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza from 2.30pm to 5pm in the "Asia Ethnic Cultural Performance". Admission is free.

Samulnori, originally Korean farmers' music, basically means "four instruments". Dressed in traditional costumes, performers create irresistable rhythms with their instruments. It will be performed by the Hanmaeum Samulnori, a Korean group living in Hong Kong.

People can also enjoy the internationally renowned Korea National Taekwondo Demonstration Team's taekwondo show.

With superb power, diversity and a moving beat, the Puripae Performing Art Group defines Fusion Percussion, re-creating Korean folk music with a contemporary twist.

The sword dance and janggu dance will be presented by the Chongdong Theatre.

Gambler Crew will demonstrate their explosive energy in a break dance.

Incorporating Korean traditions into contemporary culture, LINES Cheer Leading Team from the Sangmyung University will add colour to the outdoor performances.

The event, "Asia Ethnic Cultural Performance", is jointly presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and the Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange (KOFICE). It is supported by the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Hong Kong and Seoul Metropolitan Government.
