The Legislative Council audio webcast system has recorded a hit rate of more than 8,000 a month since it was launched in October this year. The Legislative Council Secretariat will continue to strive for excellence by providing better services for the public.
Launched on October 11, the audio webcast system seeks to provide live broadcast or audio records of open meetings of the Legislative Council and its committees held in the Legislative Council Building for the public through the Legislative Council website. As at last month, the system had recorded a total hit rate of more than 17,000; with October recording 8,225 hits and November recording 8,779.
The average time spent per hit was about 7.5 minutes and the maximum number of concurrent users was 32.
The Legislative Council audio webcast system can accommodate 500 concurrent users. The Legislative Council Secretariat will review the users limit in six months and the limit can be extended if necessary.
People can listen to all open meetings of the Legislative Council and its committees held in the Chamber, Conference Room A and Conference Room B of the Legislative Council Building and have access to the archives of the past three years' audio records of all open meetings by visiting the Legislative Council website (www.legco.gov.hk) and then click "Voice Broadcast".
