**********************************************************

The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited:

More than 300 participants attended the Cyberport Venture Capital Forum (CVCF) 2006 today (December 5), a unique venture capital forum in Hong Kong to connect the investment community to the entrepreneurs. CVCF has been held twice successfully in 2004 and 2005.

CVCF 2006 presents a cast of world-class venture capitalists and entrepreneurs in a unique and enlightening format. The forum aims to connect the investors and entrepreneurs and to help them build win-win partnerships.

Officiating at the opening ceremony, the Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology (Communications and Technology), Mr Francis Ho, said, "This is the third time that the Hong Kong Cyberport has organised the CVCF. The Government has all along been very supportive to this event.

"The forum serves as a platform for world-class investors, venture capitalists and entrepreneurs to share their visions, and to explore challenges and changes in the digital entertainment and digital content industries.

"In view of the booming development of creative industries in the Asia Pacific region, including Mainland China and Hong Kong, in recent years, the right investments will be immensely rewarding.

"While opportunities are plentiful, it is important to know how to understand and face challenges. In this context, the shared learning experience from CVCF 2006 will be of immeasurable value," Mr Ho added.

"CVCF offers a unique platform for venture capitalists, investors and entrepreneurs to network and identify synergies and business opportunities," said the Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, Mr Nicholas Yang. "This is especially meaningful and useful as venture capital investments in Asia Pacific have grown explosively in recent years. There is simply no better time to connect investors and entrepreneurs."

With the support of Cisco and its Wireless LAN solution, the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited also announced today that Cyberport has become the first open Wi-Fi broadband network in Hong Kong. The public can enjoy free Wi-Fi Internet services any time, anywhere within the Cyberport campus. This service has been made available for the first time at today's forum, where speakers and participants could experience and enjoy the convenience and efficiency brought about by this latest technology.

CVCF 2006 is co-organised by the Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, the Chinese University of Hong Kong - Center for Entrepreneurship & Faculty of Business Administration, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association, and Monte Jade Science and Technology Association of Hong Kong.

In conjunction with the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) TELECOM WORLD 2006, which is running from December 4 - 8 in Hong Kong, a special cocktail reception was held at Cyberport this afternoon to provide a valuable networking opportunity for the CVCF 2006 attendees, local ICT industry players and members of the ITU TELECOM WORLD VIP delegation. This made CVCF 2006 not only a Cyberport signature event but also an important part of the international extravaganza.

This year, CVCF 2006 invited some of the most distinguished and successful venture capitalists, investors and entrepreneurs as speakers. These speakers brought a new dimension, as well as fresh perspectives to the forum.

"We are especially proud to have world-class investors such as Mrs Lore Harp McGovern and Ms Soo Boon Koh as keynote speakers to share their valuable insights from successful experience," added Mr Yang.
