Kwun Tong restaurant ordered to suspend business
************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Kwun Tong to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at G/F, 19-23 Yan Oi Court, was ordered to suspend business from today (November 7) to November 20, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In April and August this year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the food premises.

"A total fine of $12,500 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The convictions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He added that there were also two convictions for the same offence at the restaurant in November last year and March this year.

"A total fine of $9,800 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from May 29 to June 4 this year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, otherwise their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
