"We note the open forum held by Citizens' Radio tonight outside Government House, Central.  Our investigation indicated that there were no radio transmission signals at 102.8MHz during the event.  In other words, there is no evidence showing that unlicensed radio transmitter equipment has been used.

We would like to remind that the use and possession of unlicensed radio transmitter equipment is a criminal offence under the Telecommunications Ordinance.  Offenders are liable to a maximum penalty of $100,000 and five years of imprisonment.  Also, those who knowingly participate in the delivery of messages through unlicensed radio transmitters may also commit a criminal offence.  Offenders are liable to a maximum penalty of $50,000."
