Chief Executive to visit Belgium and France

    The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will visit Belgium and France early this month (November) to brief political and business leaders and the media there on Hong Kong's latest economic, political and social developments.

     Mr Tsang will leave for Brussels on Sunday (November 5) and visit Paris on November 9.

     During his stay in Belgium, he will meet senior officials of the European Commission, the European Parliament, and the Belgian government. He will attend a reception for a business seminar organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

     Mr Tsang will deliver a keynote speech at a luncheon co-hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels and the Royal Institute for International Relations on Tuesday (November 7). On the same day, he will deliver another keynote speech at a gala dinner co-hosted by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels and the Belgium-Hong Kong Society.

     While in France, Mr Tsang will meet senior government officials, business leaders and members of think-tanks; and address a business luncheon of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.

     Other highlights in Paris include the Opening of the Hong Kong France Business Partnership Plenary organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong﷿Guangdong Business Conference co-organised by Invest Hong Kong and the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Guangdong Province.

     Mr Tsang will leave Paris for Hong Kong on November 10.

     Accompanying the Chief Executive on the trip will be Mrs Tsang; the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr John Tsang; the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mrs Jessie Ting; and the Information Co-ordinator, Mr Andy Ho.

     During Mr Tsang's absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Rafael Hui, will be the Acting Chief Executive.
