Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital diarrhoea and vomiting cases update

   Regarding the paediatrics and adolescent medicine ward in Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital (PYNEH) in which there are patients with diarrhoea and/or vomiting symptoms earlier, PYNEH made the following announcement today (2 July):

    Among the four patients presented with symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting, two patients have stopped the above symptoms.  Today, one staff member in the concerned ward has vomiting symptoms. The staff member is now on sick leave. Laboratory investigations and results are pending.  All patients are in stable condition. PYNEH has stepped up infection control measures in the ward and will continue to monitor the situation.

    The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for follow up.
