Tai Po Hosptial Norovirus Cases Update
**************************************

Regarding earlier announcement of some patients and staff members in a Medical ward and two Orthopeadic wards of the hospital presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms, the spokesperson of the Tai Po Hospital (TPH) gave the following update today (June 30).

There is one more case reported from one of the Orthopaedic wards today. The patient is now in stable condition and being treated under isolation. Test result is pending.

Admission and visiting to the wards concerned have been suspended and measures to restrict discharge activities implemented. Infection control measures have also been stepped up and all patients are under close surveillance.

As four of the staff members who have presented with the symptoms are from the Physiotherapy Department, thorough cleansing and disinfection in the Department has been carried out and infection control measures stepped up.

The TPH Infection Control Team has reported the case to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
