The spokesperson of the Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital (AHNH) made the following announcement today (June 29).
Three male patients (aged 76 to 82) of a medical ward have presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms since June 26, 2006. They are in stable condition and under isolation. Test result of one of the patients was positive to Norovirus. Results of the tests of other patients are pending.
Admission and visiting to the ward concerned has been suspended and measures to restrict discharge activities implemented. Infection control measures have also been stepped up and all patients are under close surveillance.
The AHNH Infection Control Team has reported the cases to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
