The Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr Joseph W P Wong, will leave Hong Kong tonight (June 29) to attend meetings of the Trade Negotiations Committee of the World Trade Organization (WTO) and other related meetings in Geneva.
Ministers of WTO Member Economies are expected to engage in intensive negotiations on the various aspects of the Doha Development Agenda. Hong Kong, China hopes that ministers can reach consensus on the modalities for agriculture and non-agriculture market access, and reaffirm their commitment to creating commercially meaningful market opportunities for service providers in this Round of negotiations.
Mr Wong will return to Hong Kong on July 4.
