Big Wave Bay Beach reopened

Here is an item of interest to swimmers.

     The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (June 24) that Big Wave Bay Beach in Southern District has been reopened with lifeguard service from 9am to 6pm between Mondays and Fridays and from 8am to 7pm on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.

     The reopening followed the advice by the Environmental Protection Department that the water quality of the beach is now suitable for swimming.

     The red flag was hoisted at the beach on June 21 due to the water quality was classified as Grade 4 as advised by the Environmental Protection Department.
