The Information Services Department (ISD) will start implementing the five-day week initiative from July 1.
An ISD spokesman said today (June 20) that under the five-day week arrangements, service counters of the department's Publications Sales Unit (PSU) and Photo Library will close on Saturdays, but their opening hours on weekdays will be extended to 6pm.
The new opening hours of PSU on weekdays will be 9am to 6pm (staying open during lunchtime). Apart from visiting the unit in person, members of the public may order government publications any time by fax, email and online. To encourage wider use of online services to purchase government publications, the Government Bookstore at http://bookstore.esdlife.com/eng/ is offering a 15% discount.
The Photo Library will open from 8.45am to 12.45pm, and from 2pm to 6pm on weekdays. The public may call the PSU on 2537 1910 and the Photo Library on 2810 3868.
Meanwhile, the office hours for ISD headquarters will be 8.45am to 6pm from Monday to Friday, but the media enquiry desk of the News Sub-division will continue to operate round the clock.
