CE speaks on industrial action by bus drivers
*********************************************

Following is the transcript of remarks (English portion) by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, to the media after officiating at the conference on 'Together We Build a Harmonious Community' at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre this morning (June 19):

Reporter: Passengers will be disrupted by the industrial action staged by the bus drivers today﷿﷿

Chief Executive: The bus service is an essential, key service affecting the daily life of Hong Kong people. I'm sure both parties will honestly talk to each other to find a satisfactory solution. Nobody wants any disruption. Nobody wants anybody's daily life being affected. I'm sure the union themselves and the management of the bus companies should devote more time and energy to find a mutually satisfactory solution. The Government, on its part, will certainly try to liaise with both parties and help them find a satisfactory solution.
