The Highways Department will organise the "Highways Department 20th Anniversary Roving Exhibition" from June to August, to commemorate its 20th anniversary. The launching exhibition will be staged at the Hong Kong City Hall Exhibition Hall from from today to Sunday (June 2 to 4), followed by a series of exhibitions in Tsim Sha Tsui, Sha Tin and Tuen Mun. The department is inviting everyone to view the exhibition. Admission is free.
The exhibition will introduce the work of Highways Department on the fronts of highway planning, construction and maintenance, railway development, environmental protection and streetscape enhancement. Models will also be displayed to show recent major highway infrastructure, application of dynamics in bridge design, and different materials used in highway construction. The department wants to present to the public its achievement in the past 20 years, hence enriching the understanding of the public about the department, and introducing to them its vision and mission.
