Tseung Kwan O Hospital (TKOH) spokesperson made the following announcement today (May 19):
Ten patients in a convalescent ward presented with the symptom of diarrhea since 5 May (7 male, 3 female; aged from 51 to 89). Eight patients are in stable condition and under isolation. One patient has already recovered from the symptom and was discharged. One patient passed away with pneumonia. The Norovirus and Rotavirus test results of all patients were negative.
Admission to the ward has been suspended. Infection control measures have been enforced in the ward. All patients are under close medical surveillance.
The hospital has reported the cases to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary following up.
