Southern District residents have one more location to take regular exercise and to enjoy their leisure time with the opening of the Stanley Sports Centre.
Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), Stanley Sports Centre is situated on the upper ground floor and first floor of the Stanley Municipal Services Building at 6 Stanley Market Road, Stanley.
A series of new facilities are offered in the sports centre, including an arena, dance room, table-tennis room, children's play room, multi-purpose activity room and rooftop garden.
The multi-function arena can be used as a basketball court, a volleyball court or four badminton courts. The table-tennis room and multi-purpose room are suitable for tai chi, judo, yoga or other group activities.
Stanley Sports Centre opens from 7am to 11pm daily. On every second and fourth Monday of each month, the sports centre will be closed from 9am to 3pm for maintenance.
Other major indoor sports and recreational facilities in the Southern District include: Aberdeen Sports Centre, Ap Lei Chau Sports Centre, Wong Chuk Hang Sports Centre, Yue Kwong Road Sports Centre and Aberdeen Tennis and Squash Centre.
