Pok Oi Hospital (POH) spokesperson made the following announcement today (May 18):
Since May 11, 5 patients and 1 staff of rehabilitation ward have presented with diarrhea symptoms since 11 May. 3 patients have been transferred to isolation ward of Tuen Mun Hospital for further management and the other 2 patients have already recovered from the symptom and continue to receive further rehabilitation in the rehabilitation ward. All of them are in stable condition. The staff is now on sick leave. Results of rapid Norovirus test for 2 patients were positive.
Admission to this ward has been suspended. Infection control measures have been stepped up in the ward. All patients are under close medical surveillance.
New Territories West Cluster Infection Control Team has reported the cases to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary following up.
