Re-appointment of PCICB Chairman and Members
********************************************

The Government today (May 12) announced an extension to the appointment of Mr Keith Kerr as Chairman of the Provisional Construction Industry Co-ordination Board (PCICB) as well as the appointment of 25 incumbent members until May 11, 2007.

"Over the past few years, PCICB has established itself as a platform to share experience, impart knowledge and promote industry reforms," a government spokesman said.

"This re-appointment exercise will bring in line the tenure of all incumbent members and ensure that PCICB may continue to fulfil an important role in steering forward new improvement initiatives before the formation of the statutory Construction Industry Council," he added.

The PCICB has 21 non-official members drawn from various key sectors and five official members.  Apart from serving as the focal point to nurture a new mindset predicated on quality and productivity, it is also a primary channel through which industry needs and aspirations could be effectively conveyed to the Government.
