The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is proud to present "Trio Concert by Yefim Bronfman, Gil Shaham and Truls Mork".

Following the success of the their recent US tour with appearances in Detroit, Chicago and New York, the trio of Mork, Shaham and Bronfman is going on tour in the US and Asia. In the coming performance, the three will perform Schubert's "Piano Trio in B flat major, Op.99, D.898" and Tchaikovsky's "Piano Trio in A minor, Op.50".

Violinist Gil Shaham is internationally recognised by audiences and critics alike as one of today's most virtuosic and engaging classical artists. He is sought after throughout the world for concerto appearances with celebrated orchestras and conductors, as well as for recital and ensemble appearances on the great concert stages and at the most prestigious festivals.

Shaham's 2005-06 season highlights include appearances with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra, New World Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Saint Louis Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, New Jersey Symphony, Dallas Symphony, etc.

Yefim Bronfman is widely regarded as one of the most talented virtuoso pianists performing today. His commanding technique and exceptional lyrical gifts have won him consistent critical acclaim and enthusiastic audiences worldwide, whether for his solo recitals, his prestigious orchestral engagements or his rapidly growing catalogue of recordings.

Truls Mork's reputation as a cellist of fierce intensity and grace has been built on performances throughout the world. One of the highlights of the 2005/6 season will be a two-week residency with the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic during which he will perform two concertos and appear in chamber music. He will also be appearing at the Canaries Festival with Suisse Romande.

Truls Mork is a committed performer of contemporary music, and recent world premieres have included Krzysztof Penderecki's Concerto for Three Cellos with NHK Symphony Orchestra under Charles Dutoit.

The Trio Concert will be held at 8pm on May 29 (Monday) at the Concert Hall, Hong Kong Cultural Centre. Tickets priced at $380, $280, $200 and $100 are now available at all URTBIX outlets. Half-price concessions will be granted to senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients (limited tickets for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis).
