The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (April 11) obtained an order for payment of outstanding MPF contributions owed to 68 employees of about $300,000 against an employer in the District Court.
The District Court issued a judgement against the employer. The defendant, Multi Profit International Limited trading as Goodluck Restaurant, was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $303,543.50, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 68 employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The court further ordered the defendant to pay $930 to the MPFA as the cost of the claim.
