The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) in the District Court today (April 7) obtained orders against two employers for payment of outstanding MPF contributions owed to 20 employees at around $300,000.
The District Court today issued judgements against two employers - So Yuen Shing trading as Yee Kee and Super Bond Engineering & Enterprise Limited. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA the sums of $212,554.16 and $86,557.34, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to four and 16 employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they were received by the MPFA. The court further ordered the defendants to pay $930 respectively to the MPFA as the costs of the claims.
