"Tango Pasi㣳n" to captivate Hong Kong audiences

    Tango Pasi㣳n from Argentina, who have enthralled more than two million people worldwide, will showcase their latest production "Maria of Buenos Aires" in Hong Kong.

     The Troupe was founded in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1993 by Mel Howard, the Broadway producer of the original world famous "Tango Argentino".

     Since then, the troupe has performed in famous theatres of the world including the USA, the UK, Europe, Australia and Singapore.

     This is a live show with tango orchestra, vocalists and dancers. With dazzling choreography, alluring costumes and lush lighting, audiences will be captivated by the real Tango Pasi㣳n.

     Performing the music for the show will be the renowned Sexteto Mayor Orchestra, which has won the Latin Grammy Award and Grammy Award for best Tango recording. There will be more than 16 short pieces in the first act, followed by a spinning starry sky setting in Act Two. This promises a theatrical experience full of surprise and enchantments.

     Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, "Maria of Buenos Aires" will be staged at 8pm on May 11, 12 and 13, at the Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall. Tickets priced at $330, $240, $180, and $120 are now available at all URBTIX outlets. Half-price concessions will be granted to senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients (limited tickets for students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis). 10% discount is offered to Friends of LCSD performing venues and 10% off for each purchase of 4-9 tickets; 15% off for each purchase of 10-19 tickets; 20% off for each purchase of 20 or more tickets. Patrons could only enjoy only one of the above discount for each purchase. No discount for Master Class.

     To let audiences feel the passion of tango, demonstration workshops will be arranged. The artists will show participants the authentic tango steps.  The workshop will start from 2.30pm on Saturday, May 13 at the Cultural Activities Hall, Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre, and will be conducted in English.  Tickets priced at $150 are now available at all URBTIX outlets. Participants are expected to have intermediate dance skills.
