A Symphony of Lights photo competition prize presentation and photo exhibition (with photos)

    The Prize Presentation and Photo Exhibition Launch Ceremony of "A Symphony of Lights" Photo Competition organised by the Tourism Commission was held tonight (March 21) at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre.  The winning entries will be on exhibition until March 31.

     "A Symphony of Lights" was recognised as the world's largest permanent light and sound show by Guinness World Records last November.  Soon after, Phase II of the show was launched last December covering 33 buildings on both sides of Victoria Harbour,  making another new world record.  To complement the launch of the new show, the Tourism Commission organised a photo competition to enable photography-lovers to showcase their skills in capturing the charm and vivacity of this nightly spectacle.蒅  

     The photo competition was co-organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board and had two categories: "Aged below 18" and "Aged 18 or above".  The panel of adjudicators comprised Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board the Honourable Mrs Selina Chow, Permanent Secretary for Economic Development Ms Sandra Lee, President of the Photographic Society of Hong Kong Dr Leo Wong, President of the Hong Kong Institute of Professional Photographers Mr Addy Cheung, and Chairman of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong Mr Ronnie Ho.

     Winners were awarded prizes sponsored by Tai Lin Radio Services Ltd, Jetour Holiday Ltd, New World Centre, the Hong Kong Hotels Association, and the Lan Kwai Fong Association.

     The Champions, 1st and 2nd Runners-up of the Photo Competition are as follows:

     In addition, 19 Honourable Mentions from the two categories were also selected.  An exhibition of the winning entries is being held from March 21 to 31, 2006, on the G/F Foyer of Hong Kong Cultural Centre.  Winning entries can also be viewed on the Tourism Commission website : www.tourism.gov.hk/symphony.
