Members of the public are invited to submit applications for some 2 300 newly built standard niches in the Columbarium of Kwai Chung Crematorium of the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department (FEHD) from tomorrow (March 20) to April 4.

The charges for each standard niche and memorial plaque are $3,000 and $295 respectively.

Application forms are available at the FEHD's Cemeteries and Crematoria Offices on Hong Kong Island and in Kowloon. They can also be obtained through fax or downloaded from the department's website (www.fehd.gov.hk).

Applicants can submit the completed application forms, together with the required documents, in person during office hours, or by mail or by fax, to the said offices. Late applications would not be accepted.

The FEHD will conduct an open ballot by computer on May 3 (Wednesday) to decide the selection priorities of the applicants.

The ballot results will be posted at the FEHD's Cemeteries and Crematoria Offices as well as on the department's website.
