Members of the public will be able to see the winning entries of the "Civic Education Stamp Design Competition" at the Central Atrium of Olympian City 2, Kowloon from tomorrow (March 18) to March 24.

The designs have various themes relating to civic education topics, including human rights, the rule of law, social participation, corporate citizenship, the Basic Law, and national education. These designs may be selected for stamp promotion purposes in 2007.

The stamp design competition was organised by Committee on the Promotion of Civic Education (CPCE) and the Home Affairs Bureau (HAB) to enhance the public's understanding of the concept of civic education and to boost civic awareness.

"The winners are selected from more than 1,000 entries and we are very impressed by their creativity and the artistic talent demonstrated in the designs," a CPCE spokesman said.

The competition was divided into primary and secondary school divisions and an open division. Apart from the top three prizes, there were also merit awards and special awards for each division. The panel of adjudicators comprised CPCE Chairman and its members, representatives of the HAB, Hongkong Post, Radio 2 of Radio Television Hong Kong, Hong Kong Designers Association and Hong Kong Design Institute, as well as the Hon Bernard Chan.
