Following is the transcript (English portion) of a media session by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, in Beijing this afternoon (March 2):
Reporter: Why are you not meeting central government leaders?
Chief Executive: I have answered that question before. I am certainly meeting with quite a lot of state leaders in the course of my visit here, but there is no need for any dedicated meeting simply because I was here not too long ago, in December. There is nothing significant that I should bother state leaders. Secondly, I want to hold my visit on this occasion almost entirely to practical matters, matters of economic and social interest to Hong Kong. So for that reason, I will be calling on the heads of various ministries, and particularly the leadership of the various provinces within the Pan Pearl River Delta for co-operation. So I think it will be a very tight programme, and I will make good use of my time here.
