"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" coming to HK
**********************************************

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Theatre Hikosen from Japan will return to Hong Kong next month to stage a theatrical performance of the world's first animated film, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". The compelling head-to-toe "mask play" will delight audiences with its mellow songs, resplendent settings and fabulous stage props.

The performances will be held at 3pm and 8pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 21, 22 and 23, at the Grand Theatre of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and at 3pm and 8pm on Tuesday, April 25, at the Auditorium, Tsuen Wan Town Hall.

All shows will be performed in Cantonese, apart from the matinee on April 21, which will be in Japanese, with English subtitles.

Versatile in ballet and gymnastics, the performers wear exquisite masks and dress as characters from folk tales.

Theatre Hikosen has staged more than 700 performances in Japan and entertained more than 32 million people worldwide. The theatre troupe visited Hong Kong in 1979, 1989 and 2004 and every show was a full-house.

"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" is part of the "Family Fiesta" series presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.
