Passenger and vehicular e-channels installed at Man Kam To control point
***********************************************************

Nine passenger e-channels have been activated at Man Kam To control point, the Immigration Department announced today (February 28). The nine e-channels are open to the public from 9am to 5pm daily.

Hong Kong permanent residents and holders of Documents of Identity for Visa Purposes (aged 11 or above), who also hold smart identity cards may use the e-channels to perform self-service clearance.

The Immigration Department said two more vehicular e-channels had also been activated in Man Kam To control point today, bringing the number of vehicular e-channels available there to four. They are located at arrival kiosk 4 and departure kiosk 3. The kiosks are open to cross-boundary drivers from 9am to 5pm daily.

Cross-boundary drivers who are Hong Kong permanent residents or Hong Kong residents holding Documents of Identity for Visas Purposes and have submitted the consent forms authorising the Immigration Department to make use of registration of persons particulars for self-service clearance, can perform clearance at vehicular e-channels.

A spokesman for the department reminded passengers that if their fingers were too dry, wet or unclean, they would encounter difficulties with fingerprint verification. To avoid delay, they should moisten, wipe or clean their fingers before entering the e-channels.
