The Annual Report on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) 2005 has been published by the Census and Statistics Department. The report provides a detailed analysis on the movements of the Composite CPI, CPI(A), CPI(B) and CPI(C) in 2005. These series of CPIs reflect the impacts of consumer price changes on households in different expenditure ranges. The report also presents charts and tables showing movements of the CPIs analysed by commodity/service section and their contributions to the overall change in the indices.
2. Apart from statistics on the CPIs, the report also contains detailed explanations of the concepts and compilation methods of the CPIs for readers to have a better understanding.
3. The report, which is a bilingual publication in English and Chinese, is now on sale at HK$53 per issue. Both print version and download version of the publication can be purchased online at the "Statistical Bookstore, Hong Kong" (http://www.statisticalbookstore.gov.hk). Download version of the publication can be purchased at 75% of its original price exclusively at the online Statistical Bookstore. Print version if purchased online is also offered a discount, at 85% of its original price at the Statistical Bookstore as well as the Government Bookstore (http://www.isd.gov.hk/eng/bookorder.htm). For purchase of print version, this can be done through mail order by returning a completed order form which can be downloaded from the website of the Census and Statistics Department (http://www.censtatd.gov.hk/eng/prod_serv/forms_index.html).
