Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra brings Beethoven music in March
***********************************************************

Pianist Claude Frank will play with the Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra at concerts of "Claude Frank & Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra" next month (March).

Claude Frank is an internationally acclaimed interpreter of the piano literature of Beethoven. Under the baton of the orchestra's director Dr Yip Wai-hong, he will perform three of Beethoven's works - "Egmont Overture, Opp. 84a", "Piano Concerto No.1 in C, Op.15" and "Piano Concerto No.3 in C minor, Op.37".

With one of the most distinguished careers of any pianist, Claude Frank has appeared with the world's foremost orchestras, at major festivals and at prestigious universities since his debut with Leonard Bernstein and the New York Philharmonic in 1959.

Claude Frank has been a soloist with great orchestras on five continents, including the New York Philharmonic, the Chicago Symphony, the Boston Symphony, the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony and Berlin Philharmonic. This is a great opportunity for Hong Kong people to enjoy the talent of Claude Frank.

The orchestra, while aiming to promote music among the general public especially the younger generation, has performed frequently in the Hong Kong City Hall, regional town halls and civic centres over the past 20 years. A number of internationally famous conductors and soloists have been invited to perform with it. This year is the orchestra's 30th anniversary.

The concert will be staged at 8pm, March 26, 2006 (Sunday) at the Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall.

Tickets priced at $160, $120 and $80 are now available at all URBTIX outlets.
