Renowned Russian puppetry troupe to perform in March

    Hailed as "one of Europe's most enchanting cultural treasures", the Moscow State Puppets Theatre named after Sergei Obraztsov will perform "A Super Fun Concert" soon in Hong Kong.

     A blend of artistry and entertainment giving pleasure to all puppetry admirers, "A Super Fun Concert" consists of most popular scenes of magnificent puppetry master Obraztsov's shows: "The Extraordinary Concert" and "Don Juan" as well as the video concert of Obraztsov's solo and his romances with puppets. The performance, abounding in humour and fantasy, will captivate children and adults alike.

     The Moscow State Puppets Theatre named after Sergei Obraztsov, or simply known as the Theatre of Obraztsov, has become a legend since it was founded in 1931. The Theatre tours the USA, the Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Japan, Korea and every tour brings success. All the theatre﷿s repertoires are about kindness, the good heart, making fun of all things banal, false and mediocre. The repertoires include the Russian folk fairy tale "By Order of the Pike" (1936), "The Magic Lamp of Aladdin" (1940), etc. The most legendary performance is the world famous "The Extraordinary Concert", which has won kudos in 50 countries and made it to the Guinness Book of World Records.

     "A Super Fun Concert" is one of the entertaining programmes in "Family Fiesta" series presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

     The series also includes "Goodies, Beasties and Sweethearts" by Thン?tre des Confettis (Canada); "Modern Journey to the West" by Chung Ying Theatre Company; "Parent-child Workshop on A cappella" by Gay Singers; "Papa Ali Baba" by Theatre Ensemble; "Funtastic China" by the Hong Kong Music Lover Chinese Orchestra; "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" by Theatre Hikosen (Japan); Concert by Hong Kong Children's Symphony Orchestra and "Little Swan Lake" by Ming Ri Institute for Arts Education and Guangxi Puppet Art Troupe.      Tickets are now available at URBTIX outlets, while senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients may have 50% off (limited quotas for CSSA recipients on a first-come, first-served basis).
