HK Cultural Centre Arts Fair invites stallholder applications

    Hong Kong Cultural Centre (HKCC) will relaunch the Arts and Crafts Fair from May 21 to December 17, 2006 to enrich the artistic experience of visitors.

     Organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the fair provides a platform for arts practitioners to demonstrate their creativity and share their experience with visitors.

     Applications are invited from talents in painting, calligraphy, photography and various handicraft arts. Deadline for application is March 12 and details of operation are:

1) Live Photography Service Stalls

Stalls can operate daily from 10.30am to 10.30pm but must open daily from 8pm to 10pm to offer visitors photo-taking service against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour by night. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of HK$2,400.

2) Live Painting/Portrait Sketching/Silhouette Cutting/Calligraphy Service Stalls

Stalls can operate from 10.30am to 6.30pm for Mondays to Saturdays but must open from noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of HK$1,800.

3) Self-Made Arts and Crafts Stalls

Stalls must operate from noon to 7pm on Sundays and selected public holidays during the period of the Arts and Crafts Fair. Successful applicants will be required to pay a non-refundable registration fee of HK$1,200.

     Live Photography Service Stalls will only accept applications from individuals, while the other two services will open for both individuals and organisations.

     Applications from organisations are restricted for subvented non-governmental social service organisations, or certified student societies / organisations of registered Fine Arts or Design institutes or faculties.

     Application forms are available at the HKCC Enquiries Counter or can be downloaded from www.hkculturalcentre.gov.hk. Completed application forms together with the required samples should be delivered by hand to the Enquiries Counter, HKCC, 10 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, on or before 7pm, March 12, 2006. Enquiries can be made on 2734 2844.

     Applications will be assessed in accordance with the quality and creativity of the products and services provided. When qualified applications exceed the available number of stalls, selection will be determined by drawing lots.
