Spring time enjoyment for children and families
***********************************************

The Leisure and Cultural Services Department will present a series of entertaining programmes this spring, specially designed for children and family members.

Starting from Friday, March 17, the "Family Fiesta" series will bring not only well known fairytales but also interesting productions of puppetry, music and theatre to widen audiences' horizons.

Hailed as one of Europe's most enchanting cultural treasures, the Theatre of Obraztsov (Russia) will perform "A Super Fun Concert", a wonderful performance giving greatest pleasure to puppetry admirers. It consists of most popular scenes of shows by puppetry master Sergei Obraztsov.

In "Goodies, Beasties and Sweethearts", Thン?tre des Confettis from Canada will begin a wonderful journey with attractive child-sized food inside a giant cake and end at a mini-cabaret for a wordless performance of living tableaux with live music accompaniment.

Celebrating its 40th anniversary, Theatre Hikosen will return and stage the world's first animation film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". Immersing the audience in mellow songs and resplendent setting, the theatrical performance is a compelling and beautiful full-head-to-toe mask play that has won unanimous critical acclaim.

Ming Ri Institute for Arts Education and Guangxi Puppet Art Troupe will jointly produce the puppet drama "Little Swan Lake", telling the popular story with beautiful ballet music by Tchaikovsky.

For music programmes, local group Gay Singers will conduct the "Parent-child Workshop on A cappella" series; The Hong Kong Music Lover Chinese Orchestra will enhance your knowledge in Chinese geography through the "Funtastic China" concert; several young musicians will also show their remarkable talent when they perform in the concert by the Hong Kong Children Symphony Orchestra.
